Hello, We have two sites and single organization, one site has Exchange 2016 DAG with 4 nodes, new site has Exchange 2019 DAG with 4 node. We have migrated all mailboxes and mail flow is from 2019 DAG Servers. Now we are planning for Decommission of 2016 DAG server. Kindly need to know the best practice. Thanks.

    1. Ensure all mailboxes are moved to the new servers, including the arbitration mailboxes
    2. Remove the 2016 servers as source servers in any send connector
    3. Ensure all clients are using the new servers and not the old ones. Remove the 2016 servers from any load balancing pools.
    4. Remove the 2106 servers from the DAG (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/remove-databaseavailabilitygroupserver?view=exchange-ps)
    5. Remove the DAG itself: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/high-availability/manage-ha/remove-dags?view=exchserver-2019
    6. Uninstall Exchange from the servers.

If in Hybrid mode, re-run the Hybris Wizard before starting this and set to the 2019 servers only.
