How to enable https for azure vm having Ubuntu server?

I have created a Virtual machine with Ubuntu server 22.04 LTS & have installed nginx in it. I can able to access VM through http using public ip. But can't able to access through https. Should I configure inbound rules in Azure or anything to do in Ubuntu server?

If you directly publishing your VM by public ip and you are able to use HTTP already and isn't possible to access by HTTPS could be two reasons :
- Configure Inbound Rules in Azure (NSG): You need to allow HTTPS traffic to your VM in Azure. This can be done by configuring the inbound rules to allow traffic through port 443 in the network security group associated and also to the OS firewall (If you have enable Ip tables or similar).
- Configure Nginx to Use SSL: you need to configure Nginx to use this certificate for serving HTTPS traffic. This usually involves modifying the Nginx configuration file to include the paths to your SSL certificate and private key, and setting up a server block that listens on port 443 and is configured to use SSL. You can test if it's working fine doing Curl https request in the same server.

Per Luis Arias's observation,
- Make sure NSG allows traffic in Port 443
- Did you configure HTTPS in the NGINX server first with SSL certificates?
- Are you able to access this site via HTTPS from a VM in the same subnet using Private IP?
