Authenticator not working

Question

I have a new iphone and the authenticator has not recovered the credentials from my university microsoft account and so i am not able to access my university email at all. Every time i try to log back in i am being referred to the authenticator with a 2 digit code but no verification notification pops up not shows when i manually open the app. As no notification is coming through i cannot sign into my account and need to be able to do this ASAP.
