I have an Azure VPN Gateway which is zone redundant. Currently the Public IP associated to this seems to be only allocated to Zone 2. Does this mean to make this a true zone redundant deployment I need a Public IP Across all Zones? If so can I upgrade my Public IP to be zone redundant? This is currently deployed on a standard Sku. As the VPN is configured with a client I do not want to change any of the setting that affects the client. Does anyone have any advise? Thanks Mike

Hi @ GRAY Mike , if you deployed a VPN Gateway using a zone redundant SKU your Public IP should be zone redundant as well. Please check the zone details on the associated Public IP address. A Standard Public IP could be zone redundant. You can test this if you create just a Standard Public IP address. Hi Thanks for your reply. This was created a while back and I am just checking the connection before we move into a later phase of the project. The SKU on the VPN Gateway is Zone Redundant but after checking the PiP I can only see the following. Does this make the VPN Gateway not zone redundant? I think this was created before Public IP had zone redundant as the default whenever that was introduced.

Hi @GRAY Mike ,

the Public IP in your screenshot doesn't look zone redundant.

A public IP's availability zone can't be changed after the public IP's creation.

Unfortunately the Public IP of an Azure VPN Gateway can't be changed after deployment.

Source: Change or remove public IP address

You might delete and re-deploy the VPN Gateway for full zone redundancy.
