Teams asks for my phone number for log in

We use Teams for Business at WORK and sometimes when I launch Teams it asks for my PRIVATE phone number, because it sends a text so I could log in. But there is nothing wrong with my password, I don't have trouble with the log in. I few months ago when it popped up the first time, I added my phone number (thas was a mistake...).
I don't have a phone number for work, just my personal cell, but I don't think I HAVE to use this wor WORK, this is private number..
How should I delete it?

    You can update your personal information via the "My Account" page;
    https://myaccount.microsoft.com/

    In your case, you can most likely edit it on the "Security info" page;
    https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

    Your corporate Microsoft 365 administrator can configure whether or not (or when) an additional confirmation of your identity is required and in what way that should happen.

    Using a text message or an Authenticator app is the most common method used for multi-factor authentication (MFA). If you are required to put in your phone number but don't want to use your private number, contact your administrator or support desk about the possibilities of using another method.

    Hi @KD ,

    If you are using Office 365 for Business account and you want to change the number to get the authentication code for your account, you should contact your Office 365 admin to disable multi-factor authentication and re-enable it for your account, and then when the first time you sign in your account with browser, you are prompted to set up a phone number to verify your login and to receive code, you can change your number at this time.

    For more details about how to disable multi-factor authentication, you can refer to:
