Problem Activating Windows

I installed Windows 8.1 on a home built computer yesterday. I have the original DVD and the original sticker containing the product key. It installed fine but it won't activate and none of the options like telephone activation are available. I haven't used this key before so there shouldn't be an issue. Can anybody advise me how I can activate this please? I realise 8.1 is out of support but that shouldn't stop it activating. I can scan the DVD and sticker but presumably shouldn't make them public?

Hello.

Did you purchase the product key from an authorized retailer?

Have you tried activating your Windows Server 2019 Standard installation using the command prompt?

You can do this by opening the command prompt and entering the following command: slmgr.vbs /ipk <product key> Replace <product key> with your actual product key.

Or, the following steps of phone activation can you achieve?

  1. Press Windows logo key + R, type slui 4 in the Open box, and select OK.
  2. Select your location (or the location nearest to you) from the drop-down list, and then select Next.
  3. Call one of the available phone numbers listed. An automated system will guide you through the activation process.
  4. If you're not able to complete activation successfully, you will be connected to Microsoft support for your region and country.

Best Regards,
Hania Lian
