Can i add over 250 peoples in teams chat group?

Question

Dear Microsoft Supporter, I have one question for microsoft teams chat members adding. I can't add the over 250 members in teams chat group. How should i do? Our organization has more 250 membres so we need to add more members. I send the Request message to microsoft but they didn't reply to me. Pls answer my question and make to add more 250 peoples. Thank you.

250 members is the maximum limit that can be added. To add more than 250 you would need to upgrade your plan, please see below.

According to this official documentation a group chats can have up to 250 members, no more than 200 members can be added at the same time.

Hi @IT Support

The maximum number of people that can be accommodated in a Teams chat is 250, and this is by design.

If you want to set up a chat with more than 250 people, the best way is to create a team and members can chat in the team's channel. A maximum of 25,000 people can be accommodated in a team.
