Hi @Jason Brown
Can all documents, including newly created files, be opened or saved?
- For better analysis, please share a screenshot of the error message with us.
- It is recommended to change the location to store the files.
Could you please tell us which version of Office are you using?
- If it is Word for Windows
-
- Please close all the files of Office and go to File Explorer > View in Show/hide group > check the box of "Hidden Items".
- Go to
C:\Users<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
, then find the Normal.dotm and rename it. This file will be automatically generated when reopen Word.
- If it is Word for Mac
-
- Quit all Office applications.
- Open Finder and go to
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates
. (Shift+Command+G). - Find the Normal.dotm and move it to Desktop. (Word will rebuild it).
- Locate to
~/Library/Containers/ Microsoft Word /Data/Library/Preferences/
, remove Microsoft Word.securebookmarks.plist.
