What would happen if I Azure Migrate SQL Server?

Question

I will Azure Migrate SQL Server2012 from onpremise to Azure VM.

I have some questions below.

1. Will it become SQL Server2012 (Iaas) or Azure SQL Server (Paas)?
2. If it will become SQL Server2012, how to purchase the lisence?

1. Based on your strategy: If you choose PaaS, you can use Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance. This is a fully managed service, and Microsoft takes care of the infrastructure, patching, and many administrative tasks. But in IaaS, you are responsible for all of that.
2. For SQL Server running on Azure Virtual Machines, you need to ensure that you have the appropriate SQL Server licenses with Software Assurance. This typically involves purchasing licenses through a licensing agreement with Microsoft or an authorized reseller.
