Kindly assist if we can use Feature update or shall we use In place upgrade. Which will be better and why. Regards, Tathagata

    Hi @Tathagata Bhattacharya ,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Yes, both feature update and In-place upgrade task sequence can update the OS from Windows 10 to 11 22H2 version. Feature update is an easier way and is suite for only upgrading OS. In-place upgrade task sequence is more flexible that you can do additional task beside upgrading OS, for example installing applications. For more detailed steps, please refer to:

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

Both have their set of pros and cons. If you need to run an pre or post install steps then should be using IPU to setup a sequence of tasks. If it is just the upgrade you want, then FU is the better option. It will all depend on the requirements and the current configuration on your devices.

You can create a Feature Update deployment and assign it to the devices that you want to upgrade to Windows 11 22H2.

    1. Intune admin center > Devices > Feature Updates for Windows 10 and later. Create a Profile and choose the below settings:

For a step-by-step guide on this, refer to the link: https://cloudinfra.net/upgrade-to-windows-11-23h2-using-intune/
