The method to resize the taskbar is not working. I followed the following method: in registry editor I opened the path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced and created a new "DWORD (32 bit) value" and renamed it as TaskbarSi and put the value 0 and restart the laptop. but it is not working. I also tried putting the value 1 or 2. but no changes is found.

Microsoft has disabled the taskbar resizing functionality through registry edits in recent updates. This means the "TaskbarSi" value adjustment no longer works. Third party paid application is available but could potentially conflict with Windows updates or have unforeseen implications.

Hello, I'm afraid that it no longer works that way. That hack was an unsupported method and that means it runs risk of being used. Currently, there's no official way to make it smaller then to simply hide it which is the smallest of all. Best Regards, Hania Lian
