Restore a deleted MS Teams Channel

Hi, one of our team members deleted a channel by mistake today and for some reason it is not restoring (we tried to do the restore 8 hrs ago and it didn't have very much information in there). I have checked the group in the admin centre and it doesn't have a record of the channel in the channels, though it does show up in teams as having been deleted. Is there another way to restore this channel as it had a lot of crucial information? In addition, is there a way to default that channels can not be deleted by members, and to populate this attribute through all other channels and groups?

I am having a similar problem that took place yesterday as well. It has been approximately 20 hours since selecting restore and it is still listed as a deleted channel.

I have a similar issue though not completely. I deleted the whole Teams group which contained some standard channels and also some private channels. IT managed to restore (through M365 I guess) completely standard channels (related onedrive and sharepoints restored successfuly).

For the private channels however it worked only partially - I can see these private channels in Teams again, can see chats as well, but Files, OneDrive and Sharepoint related to these channels are not there - I get 404 not found error. The part I really care about are a few lists created on these sharepoints.

Any idea how to restore that?

To restore a deleted team in the Teams admin center, do the following:

1.Go to the Teams Admin center > Teams > Manage teams.

2.Expand Actions menu on the top right corner, click View deleted teams.

3.Select the team that you want to restore from the list, and then click Restore. You can also select multiple teams and restore them.

Please note that it might take some time for the team to appear in the Manage Teams list. Select Refresh to refresh the list.

You can also try to restore in M365 admin center:

If you are a global administrator or a groups administrator, you can restore a deleted group in the Microsoft 365 admin center:

1.Go to the admin center.

2.Expand Groups, and then click Deleted groups.

3.Select the group that you want to restore, and then click Restore group.

Yes, I had tried these and funnily enough the deleted channel wasn't showing. I managed to restore it by going into old Teams and restoring... Is there anyway to default that channels can not be deleted by members, and to populate this attribute through all other channels and groups so this doesn't happen again?

The above method is designed to recover deleted teams, if you need to recover deleted channels, please try:

Step 1: Click More options next to the target team > choose Manage team. Step 2: In the management page, open Channels tab and expand the Deleted list > Click the Restore button.

To prevent your users from accidentally deleting channels in their teams, you can turn off this feature in your team settings:

Yes, but this only seems to work in "old" teams and the button in "new" teams doesn't work for anyone else that is looking at this.
