Can't open Azure Backup MMC Snap-in.

For the last two days whenever I attempt to open the Microsoft Azure Backup MMC it loads and gets to Checking for Updates and then crashes. Because of this I am unable to retrieve previous backups to recover any data.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest agent and have even tried from multiple machines. On windows Server I am not provided with any error details, but I can get a screenshot of the error from a Windows 10 machine. (I am not currently where I can get this, but I can edit this post shortly)

Is anyone else seeing this behavior? How are you currently recovering your backups if needed?

@AU_Michael , and @RMCAL Am running agent version 2.0.9197.0 on my windows 10 machine without any issues. Suggest you to update to the latest version and this should resolve the issue. Download the latest version of the Azure Backup agent

A quick update after looking over the discussion from @RMCAL and @SadiqhAhmed-MSFT .

There were no outstanding updates pending. I attempted to upgrade\install the latest version (2.0.9197.0) on a Windows 10 machine where I originally received the error I posted and the MMC continues to unload itself and not run. Guessing this is something stuck in an error loop, but was only done for testing so I am not concerned with the error here.

I grabbed this update for my production server where I originally ran into the issue, but it appears to be working now. It loaded with some errors on the initial run after the update, but after closing and re-opening the MMC I am finally back in where I can access my backups.

@SadiqhAhmed-MSFT I'm using a free Azure account and don't currently have support which is why I reached out here. The account doesn't let me open a support ticket without upgrading to a support subscription.

Seems like a bad update now that things seem to be working again.

(edit: I didn't mean for it to be put as an answer, but I suppose it works out since the update appears to have resolved the issue.)

I found this thread when looking for support on the same issue.

I installed the MARS agent on a Windows 10 Professional machine two days ago and the initial backup was successful. When opening the agent again today, the same error posted by @AU_Michael appeared and continues to appear (localized message in German here but same content):

I uninstalled and re-installed the agent using the download link in the portal, restarting my machine in between. Again, the agent could be opened once right after installation and could be configured, but on the second try the error appeared. The agent version is 2.0.9200.0.

Are there any issues known with this version?
