"Price" refers to the cost of the Azure Virtual Machine to run the software.
"Software price" refers to the cost of the publisher software running on an Azure Virtual Machine.
"Total price" refers to the combined total cost of the Azure Virtual Machine and the publisher software running on an Azure Virtual Machine.
VM price in marketplace is for compute only, storage is additional cost that you pay.
If you use standard storage, only used storage is billed. For example, if you create 1TB disk for your VM and only 200GB is real data, you'll be billed for 200GB.
If you use premium storage, you'll be billed for disk size, no matter how much of it is real data. For example, 1TB disk of premium storage and 200GB of data on it, you'll be billed for 1TB.
Hope it helps.
