How to give full access to a shared folder between Windows 10 and 11 while restricting access to specific users?
First, let me state my Platform:
1. ASUS Prime Z390A MB 2. Intel I-Core I9 CPU 3. Dual Boot Hard Drive with: a. TeraByte Bootit UEFI Boot Manager (a separate partition from the following partitions) b. Windows 10 Pro with all current Updates on C:\ [\Desktop\Name__A__] | [IP Address: 10.0.0.127] c. Windows 11 Pro with all current Updates on C:\ [\Desktop\Name__B__] [Same IP Address] d. Bootit UEFI isolates each Windows C:\ partition from each other 4. Norton 360 5. Plus, a number other programs and utilities 6. On my second hard drive partition D:\ I have a folder (Personal Finances) that is the subject of my question. 7. The D:\ folder is marked as Shared. Question: First, I would like to have full access to my Personal Finances folder from both of my Windows 10 and 11 C:\ partitions. 8. Both of the Windows partitions have the same User Id called paulm and I believe that both User Ids have different GUIDs. 9. The second part of my question is that I want to deny access to this folder to all other enrolled User Ids; except, those utility Ids (System, Administrator Groups and such) like Backup Programs from both Windows 10 and 11 OSs. 10.. I currently use Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office which runs at the system level as my Boot drive backup software. 14. The third part of my question is that all other User Ids have full access the rest of the D:\ partition from both Windows 10 and 11 OSs. Thanks, Paul
