Hello, Having trouble connecting to my PC from a Macbook (Sonoma 14.2.1 IOS) using the Remote Desktop function with Windows 11 Pro OS (Microsoft Business Standard). I've run through all the steps provided by Microsoft (see HERE). While in the Mac version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop app, I'm getting an "unable to connect" message: "We couldn't connect to the remote PC because your credentials did not work. If you are using your work account you must disable Network Level Authentication on the remote machine. If you are using a local account, verify your username and password." I'm concerned that disabling the NLA will leave my machine vulnerable... Admittedly, I'm not a trained IT pro; BUT I am more tech savvy than the average bear and can usually Google/YouTube my way through these things. This time I'm stuck. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your input. Amy

    Hello Amy Uehling

Considering the error message, the user account used for the remote PC connection needs to have the appropriate permissions. To gain permission for the connection, ensure that your user account is included in the list of authorized users. User's image

If you are operating in a secure environment and disabling NLA is a temporary measure for troubleshooting, it might be acceptable.

If you're remotely connecting to a PC on your home network from outside of that network, don't enable Network Level Authentication.

If you have any further questions or concerns about this case, please let me know.
