Hi, Few of our users facing some inconvenience in MS new teams client. When searching for associate or clicking on different individuals on "Chat" Section, mouse cursor do not go directly on "Type a message" section. Manually users have to click there to start chatting. It is not the case with me or majority of the users. User has updated the teams new client but still no luck. I sharing screenshot where it is expected to come, but if you switch from one chat to chat, it isn't happening. Works for me and lot of other users.

Hi @GoodResource Does anyone else have the same issue in your organization? Do you have the same issue in new Teams web client? To reproduce your result, I did a test in my new Teams client but it seems no issue in our client. When we click another person in New Teams, we could directly type the word without click on type a message.

    I have this issue when:

I search for a contact in the top search bar (crt-E, I like hotkeys), use the keyboard to select a contact > enter.

Then, if I'm full screen/large window (with 'Chat' bar visible/maximized), it's fine and my keyboard cursor is in the 'Type a message' field.

If however, I'm using a smaller window, e.g. snapped to the right half of the screen, MS Teams pops open the 'Chat' bar on the left-hand side (that was invisible/minimized due to smaller window) and consequently, the focus for my keyboard cursor is not in the 'Type a message' field, but in the 'Chat' overview window.

Then, when I blindly type away, frustration starts, because instead of resulting in a text message my keyboard inputs are causing a variety of actions in the 'Chat' overview window.

Please, developers of Teams, fix this annoying behaviour!
