Loop Kanban Board Checklist does not work

I'm trying to use Loop. When I use a Kanban board and open a card there is an area for Checklist.
It appears to only be one line.
How is this supposed to be used? I can't find the right details in documentation.
Same thing for Notes. Notes is just one line. Hardly a NOTE....

I had to add a number first by adding a 1. then it recognized the line item.
Notes is still just one line.
