Dear Experts, I'm running the in-console prerequisite check for updating CB to 2309, from 2207. It failed with the following two errors:

[Failed]:Install the Microsoft ODBC driver 18 for SQL setup from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2220989.

[Failed]:Checks that the site server computer has sufficient available disk space to install the site server.

And one warning: [Completed with warning]:Slide Co-Management workload slider for resource access policies towards Intune. Remove the certificate registration point site system role and all policies for company resource access features in Configuration Manager. These features are no longer supported as of March 2022 in Configuration Manager. Company resource access includes email, certificate, VPN, Wi-Fi, and Windows Hello for Business profiles. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2186198 for more details.

What are the correct steps to resolve them before we actually update CB to 2309? The main concern I have is that our SCCM server and SQL are on the same VM and this VM is hosted in VMWare. The drives being installed on D drive. We can add space from our hosted physical server but it will be initiated as a new drive by default. How can we increase the space for D drive in such scenario? I'm not really sure if this is where it caused the failure of insufficient disk space? Thanks a lot. User's image

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

1,You can refer to below similar thread in Vmware forum:

Extending a virtual disk with new Physical Disk(s)?

2,From a Windows perspective you can try below options:

A,If the D drive and E drive are in the same physical disk, you can back up the file in E drive, delete E drive and then extend D drive with the new unallocated space.

B,If the option in above step is not possible, you can also try to covert D drive to dynamic disk to extend the space. Dynamic disks are a separate form of volume management that allows volumes to have noncontiguous extents on one or more physical disks. (However, please note: this process is irreversible. We are unable to convert dynamic disks into basic disks.) For more information, please refer to:

    Basic and Dynamic Disks

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

==>[Failed]:Install the Microsoft ODBC driver 18 for SQL setup from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2220989.

Per my experience, we need to install Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 on every node that has the site system role installed before the upgrade process. Similar threads for your reference:

The log will tell you exactly which drive is low on space but my bet based on the screenshots is f:.

Thanks a lot @Simon Ren-MSFT and @Garth Jones I used the easy option you shared, converting the BASIC disks to dynamic and updated the SCCM to 2309
