Hi Anthony, I had the same issue. To fix it, you need to go to Power Platform Admin Center and install 'AI Builder for Project Cortex' for your environment:
Issues with Syntex Model Layout Method
I'm attempting to train a Syntex Model for either Freeform or Layout method in Microsoft Syntex in my Sharepoint Site.
The prebuilt models and Teaching Method custom model work just fine, but I keep getting an error with Layout and Freeform methods. Is there any way I can get these Training models to work?

Welcome to Q&A forum!
It's difficult to determine the exact error you're encountering without more information, but here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue with the Layout and Freeform selection methods in Microsoft Syntex:
- Ensure that you have the appropriate permissions to create and train custom models using the Layout and Freeform selection methods. You may need to be a site owner or have specific permissions granted to you in order to use these methods.
- Double-check that you have entered all the required information correctly when creating the model, including the model name, description, and advanced settings such as content type and retention labels. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate options for your needs.
- Check that you have uploaded the correct types of documents for your model. For example, if you are using the Layout method, you will need to upload structured documents that follow a consistent format. If you are using the Freeform selection method, you can upload a variety of document types, but they should all be similar in terms of content and structure.
