There have been several changes in file sharing from Windows 95 and Windows 10/11 and even if you want to do file sharing because Windows 95 is out of support, it is not recommended. You may look for a third-party application which would work on Windows 95 and Windows 10/11. Or you may setup a basic HTML site (old standard) which you use it to share files between Windows 95 in browser and Windows 10/11.

Hey, We have a very old win 95 machine that runs a robot. We wanted to know if anyone can help us setup an smb file share between a win 95 and win 10/11 so far we created a shared folder on the win 95, and shared it across the network. the win 10, partially connects to the point that it asks me for a username and password. but we don't have anything setup on the win 95. for the file share, we set a password, but there is no username. would anyone be able to help me complete the connection, Thanks!

2024-02-02T06:59:34.3166667+00:00 Hello, Thank you for posting in Q&A forum. You can refer to steps below so that we can move on: 1.You have created a SMB shared folder which is great. 2.Then you need to right click on the folder, go to property and go to section Sharing 3.Right-click on the folder you want to share and select "Sharing." 4.In sharing please put in an account used for accessing the share on win 10. 5.On security section you can add the account as well. 6.Make sure there's basic TCP connection established between win95 and win 10. Now you can go to win 10 and try to access by the credential we added just now. Best Regards, Hania Lian
