Help with a script that will filter groups into the most recent entries

Good Morning, I have a report that I would like to use an Office Script to only show the most recent entries from a group and delete the rows that are not the most recent for that group. The column that contains the group is called "Vendor", the date column is "Latest Purchase Date". In my specific situation it needs to be done with a Script and not a formula and I am just not at that level to do it yet. But I am looking forward to learning. Unfortunately I cannot upload a file because of my corporate policies so all that I can do is paste a screenshot. Thank you for any help that you can give. User's image
