Authenticator App Loop

I am trying to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app to be able to use Teams and Outlook on my phone. When I try to set up the Authenticator app it tells me I need to sign in using a QR code but when I go to security section of my account to get the QR code it says I need the Authenticator app to sign in. I’m caught in a loop where I need the QR code to use the Authenticator app but to get the QR code I need the Authenticator app. Please help.
