Is there a way to get the text next to the + sign when that + sign is pressed
E.G. In the picture below. If I click on the + sign next to Dell. I want to get the word Dell in string.

Yes. This works But you need to change the line "HTREEITEM hItem = pNMTreeView->itemNew.hItem" to "HTREEITEM hItem = pNMTreeView->itemNew.hItem;"Thank you
That should have read Remove the minus ampersand gt. I have to write it out as this comment wont let me add the ampersand
