SharePoint Online Site has a document library called Projects which has metadata.

  • Is it possible to hide for Folders ? We require only for documents ?
  • Can we have different meta data for different folders and documents in the same document library or need to create different document library if metadata fields are different ?

    1. As a workaround, you could create two different views, one view to display documents and one view to display folders. In the view of the folders, set the Managed Metadata column is not displayed.

    2. You could create two or more different Managed Metadata columns in a document library. According to the reply in the first point, you could create multiple views and classify different folders and documents into different views, then display different Managed Metadata columns in the different views.
