Hi, When I push updates to machine it showing large number of machine reported as unknown. machine ip range is in the boundary e.g. 192.168.5.0=192.168.5.255 machine has site assign and DP Firewall ports are open i can see machine has apply the patch in the logs but doest matter what i do it doesnt report back if I re-install clients it works fine

I dont see any errors in this log.

CcmMessaging.log records activities related to communication between the client and management points, if you don't see any error, the communication should be ok.

Which log you see the patch has applied? Is there any error in WUAHandler.log?

On most of our machine are reporting as unknow or inprogress for Windows Updates.

I have applied all of the updates manually

Our SCCM is HTTP

Boundary groups are all setup correctly

I can download all updates/package fine

I can ping/telnet on to MP from port 80/443

No firewall between client and sccm server

0x87d00231 = "transient error"

This is typical of a network related issue between the two endpoints.

Check if the metered connection was enabled, if the option is enabled, disable it and check the CcmMessaging.log again.
