Azure Analysis Service "There is not enough space on the disk" error during tabular cube process

Hi all, We are using AAS to host a few tabular models; while processing them, randomly, the process fails with the "There is not enough space on the disk" error.
As said we're using AAS, not a virtual machine, so we thought that disk space would not be a problem and should be managed by the service itself. Is this a wrong assumption? Considering we're creating some automation scripts to update all the models, Is there a way to fix this error?

Actually, deleting old models and retrying will do the job, but, as you can understand, it's a manual step that we would like to avoid. Also, almost all the hosted models are required and we're sopposed to host more of them in the future. Thank you for the support

    • You can try increasing the capacity of your AAS instance to provide more resources for processing your tabular models? optimize the tabular models, reduce the retention policy, or scale up the AAS instance to a higher SKU that provides more disk space.

    To monitor metrics for an Analysis Services server

    • You can monitor the disk space usage of your AAS instance to identify any trends or patterns that may be contributing to the "not enough space on the disk" error. You can use Azure Monitor to monitor the disk space usage of your AAS instance.
    • Reducing the size of the data being processed to reduce the resource utilization.
    • As you mentioned, deleting old models automated way can free up disk space and resolve the issue.

    HI SatishBoddu-MSFT, thank you for your answer. I don't think there is a way to monitor disk space with "metrics" on a AAS server: there is not such a metric available (or to me it seems so). Increasing the capacity will indeed increase memory and qpu but i don't think it has an impact on the disk space.
    The error we got explicitly says "not enough disk space". And i'm puzzled because i thought that disk space is manged by the service; also, i can't find any reference to disk space on AAS on all Microsoft documentations (but, off course, i can be wrong).
    So again, is this error a "false" error? should i investigate other sides of the issue? or is disk space really a variable to consider in AAS , and in this case, where i can find the specifics for the disk space on the various price tiers? Thank you again MF
