In Azure Data Studio - Connection, i see:

Authentication type: SQL Login, Username: smssecret In Azure - SMS-My-DB (changesfsms/SMS-My-DB) | Properties, i see:  Server admin login: CloudSA1fb2secret

  • Why don't i see CloudSA1fb2secret in Azure Data Studio?
  • Why don't i see smssecret in Azure - SMS-My-DB (changesfsms/SMS-My-DB) | Properties?

    Hi John Weiss •,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As I understand, you want to know the difference between Azure Data Studio and Azure Portal. In Azure Portal for Azure SQL Database, we have the Server admin login name shown which we give while creation of the SQL Server:

In Azure Data Studio, here also we can add the same admin credentials to access Databases in that SQL Server:

    Hope this helps.

Please let us know if you have queries.

    Thanks

    Hi John Weiss •,

Please explain more on the ask.

Regarding Username and Password, it the Server credential which you have to manually wirte when connecting to DB through Azure Portal or Azure Data Studio.

If your server name is changesfsms, then you have to access the Databases inside it via credentials of the Server Username and Password.

Server admin login is not auto populated in Azure Data Studio.

It might be the case that there are other users too for that Database. User's image

If you have more questions, please elaborate more on the question.

    Thanks
