MS SharePoint Guest User Licensing

We are using MS Sharepoint quite heavily, also with many users who are not part of the organisation (= guest users / external users). In fact there are more guest users than internal users. All guest users already have some sort of Office 365 license by their home tenant. Question: Do they need another license assigned by us (e.g. Sharepoint Plan 1)? They only need to be able to access the site, upload and download docs, sometimes opening the docs in Word Online. Thanks i advance!

    Hi @Julian Brunner,

Thank you for posting in this community.

Depending on your needs, I don't think you need to configure additional licenses for your guests.

You just need to set corresponding permissions for your guests so they can access the sites and upload or download files.

Below is what the official Microsoft documentation states that guests without a license can do.
