We work with users that have multiple accounts, in one M365 tenant, each user has seperated these accounts with its own Profile in Edge, eg Profiles A, B, C, D, etc.

This is because we have a shared environment for multiple companies (4 in total), operated by the same people.

These accounts are licensed as 'Office E3' (including Teams)

For example:

  • Profile A: user@companyA.com
  • Profile B: user@companyB.com
  • Profile C: user@companyC.com

If we for example:

  1. open Edge with the profile A
  2. Navigate to our SharePoint environment on 'xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/CompanyA'
  3. Open a Word or Excel File, not in the browser, but select the 3 dots and choose open in app.
  4. Most of the times we now get a login prompt in word/excel, although our accounts are already logged in here
  5. Enter username/password if required
  6. The file opens in word/excel most isn't editable and blocked by messages like: UPLOAD BLOCKED we could not verify you have the necessary permissions to upload the file

A work around is log out in word/excel (all accounts) and re-login with only one account, but this isn't convenient working for opening a lot off various files throughout the day.

Can someone advise a better workaround this issue?

Many thanks,

Jimmy

Upload block is caused by the cache of multiple accounts, so log in and log out can resolve the issue.

The only workaround I can provided is use different virtual machines to log in the different accounts in the office client application.
