MS Graph API Search does not work properly

Question

Searching for a specific set of driveItems delivers not the expected Result.

Scenario:

• I upload 3 Items within Sharepoint and setted a specific common ID for all thre files in an custom column.
• The three Files are .eml Message, .pdf and png. But since I tested this multiple variations it does not seem to relate to the content type.
• Column is indexed, index recreation was iniatiated.

Now the result:

• Searching within Sharepoint Online for the Common ID provides 3 results = OK
• Searching within MS Graph (Search API: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/driveitem-search?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http) provides 2 results = NOT OK
• Searching within MS Graph (Query API: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/search-concept-files) provides 3 results = OK

My Question is: Why does the Search API does not provide 3 results? What could be the reason?

Hi @David Tissen,

Per my research, there is some issue with SharePoint Online content search currently. This issue specifically impacts items which were newly created or updated recently.

As the picture shows, Microsoft will fix the issue in next update. The update should be in Friday, February 9, 2024 at 6:00 AM GMT+8. And we will continue to pay attention to this issue. Thanks for your understanding.
