When I install SQL Server components (like SSRS, Database Engine services) on a system that does not have a SQL Server Implementation, are the components licensed to the SQL Server being administered?

I would like to use SQL Server components, like SSRS, Analysis Services, etc... on Server B, connecting to an Enterprise SQL Server database on Server A. Since I'm connected to an Enterprise system, do I have to license Server B with Enterprise Core licenses?
Also, If I connect to both an Enterprise SQL Server and a Standard SQL Server, from Server B - will the higher-level Enterprise licensing cover the connection to an additional, but Standard SQL Server?

If you install all components on the same machine, you need one license.

If you install Database Engine from Enterprise Edition on one machine and Analysis Services from Enterprise Edition on a different machine, you need two licenses for Enterprise Edition.

If you install SQL Server Standard Edition on a third machine, you need a license for Standard.

Beware that this is a technical forum and questions on licensing are legal matters. You cannot get authoritative answers to legal matters here. To cite a common answer to such questions in these forums: Call (1-800-426-9400), Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST to speak directly to Microsoft licensing specialist.
