Not able to create Azure Database Migration Project

I need to create Azure Data Migration Project for one of my assignments, But I'm not able to do it from the Portal. No option for Creating a project is present. Previously I used to create it through Database Migration Services, But I'm not able to do it anymore. Can someone please help.. Thanks and Regards, Apoorv Jain

Access Azure Portal: Log in to the Azure Portal at https://portal.azure.com.

Navigate to Azure Database Migration Service (DMS): In the Azure Portal, you can use the search bar or navigate through the menu to find and select "Database Migration Services."

  **Create a New Migration Project:**
     Once in the Database Migration Service, look for an option to create a new migration project. The exact steps and options might vary based on any updates or changes to the Azure Portal.

     **Specify Source and Target Details:**
        In the project creation wizard, you typically need to specify details about your source database and target (Azure) database. This includes connection strings, authentication details, and other relevant information.

        **Select Databases for Migration:**
           Choose the specific databases you want to migrate as part of this project.

           **Configure Migration Settings:**
              Set up migration settings, such as the type of migration (online/offline), schedule, and any additional parameters.

              **Start Migration:**
                 Once all settings are configured, start the migration process. The Database Migration Service will handle the data transfer from the source to the target.

                 **Monitor and Troubleshoot:**
                    Monitor the migration progress through the Azure Portal. If any issues arise, the portal typically provides logs and details for troubleshooting.

Hi @Smruti R Sahu , Thanks for your response.I'm aware of how to create a Data Migration Sirvice. What i want to know is how do I create a Data Migration Project. Previously there used to be an option to crate this using Data migration service, But now I don't see it.

In the Azure portal, search for Azure Migrate.

In Services, select Azure Migrate.

In Get started, select Discover, assess and migrate.

4 . In Servers, databases and web apps, select Create project.

5 . In Create project, select the Azure subscription and resource group. Create a resource group if you don't have one

6 . In Project Details, specify the project name and the geography in which you want to create the project.

@apoorv jain You are at the database tab go to the databases and web apps tab there you can create a project follow my screenshot for your referance .

Thank you for reaching out and sorry to hear that you are not able to create Database migration projects.

Did you check your permissions.?

Ensure you have the correct permissions to create a project using the following steps:

In the Azure portal, open the relevant subscription, and select Access control (IAM).

In Check access, find the relevant account, and select it and view permissions. You should have Contributor or Owner permissions.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As I understand, you are unable to see Azure Database Migration Service option in Azure portal. Could you please try as shown below:

Search in the bar and option as shown above should appear.

If you could not find, then check if resource provider is registered for your subscription: Sign in to the Azure portal. Search for and select Subscriptions.

Select the subscription in which you want to create the instance of Azure Database Migration Service, and then select Resource providers.

Search for migration, and then select Register for Microsoft.DataMigration.

Once you find service, click on Create:
