We have one server that has recently (last 3 or 4 days) started to run out of memory each day. On investigation it is the Windows Defender Antivirus service that just keeps taking memory through the day until it the memory becomes 100% utilised and the server grinds to a halt requiring a reboot. We have Azure Defender for cloud installed on the subscription so we cannot take this server out on its own or disable the real time scanning. I have excluded the usual directories and processes at the server level to try to alleviate the issue but with no effect. Made sure the latest AV definitions and software elements are downloaded Server runs Windows 2019 and has 2Cpu and 4Gb memory and is mainly a Web server. No other servers appear to be affected by this issue in our subscription. Has anybody else experienced this apparent memory leak in the AV elements and if so how was it fixed.
