In order to safeguard the data during migration from Gen1 to ADLS Gen2, using the upgrade option, we would like to take a backup of the entire storage container. 
We created a backup vault with similar properties as that of the storage container (RA-GRS) and when we added the storage container to be backed up in the "Configure Backup" stage, the validation failed with "User cannot assign roles" What Roles are required for creating a backup of storage account.User's image

    Hi @Girish UR ,

    it should be the Storage Account Backup Contributor role that is required. Source: Grant permissions to the Backup vault on storage accounts
