Feedback: Multiple Answer Support Is Not Good

The current behavior of the forum is to allow only a single answer per question. Either that should change to allow multiple answers (or at least to mark multiple responses as valuable) or the way to mark answers needs to change.

What I see happening in posts when multiple people post reasonable answers is that the OP starts at the top and marks each response as an answer. Either because of the UX issue related to things not updating properly or because the OP doesn't notice but when they select a second post as the answer then the first post is unmarked. Hence you get a series of emails as the user selects each post as an answer. Ultimately the last answer posted becomes the answer irrelevant of whether it was actually the most helpful or not.

The UX should make it more clear about how answers work. One option is to not allow the user to select a response as answered if another response is already marked. Alternatively notify the user that another response is already marked as answered and warn the user that selecting the new response would replace the old answer.
