Can you upgrade a not working Azure AD Connect v1.6.16.0 to Entra Connect?

Windows 2019 Server that was running Azure AD Connect v1.6.16.0. It stopped working with the following error: This version of the Identity synchronization tool is not supported. You may be running an older version of the Identity synchronization tool. Make sure you are running the latest version. You can obtain the latest version by downloading it from the Identity synchronization page in your Admin Portal. If the error persists, contact Technical Support. Tracking ID: 0a42f85a-a5f4-4b0e-8954-674f406d5b9d Server Name: . Can the Entra Connect installation be run on this server to upgrade and restore the synchronization process?

    Hi @Stephanie, Thanks for your question inside Q&A.

    The v. you note here and when I look at the release history page for Azure AD Connect/Entra ID Connect as the new name is here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/hybrid/connect/reference-connect-version-history I see that your v. is very old.

    For the fix here, you need to upgrade the intance of the Azure AD Connect server.
