Does microsoft slim pen 1 work with surface pro 9?

Question

I have a microsoft slim pen 1 and when i connect through my surface pro 9 bluetooth it work but can't use it to draw or anything how do I fix it? Is it because the nibs is bad or it doesnt work for surface pro 9? Only the back button work
