Hi! My windows 11 computer was working perfectly fine until I recently updated and played The Sims 4.

I know nothing about computers and have only ever used my computer to watch movies and tv shows on reputable sites such as Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc, and play games such as The Sims 4.

Everything was perfectly fine until the next day when Chrome wouldn’t load, eventually crashed and my computer crashed and the blue error screen appeared. Now upon starting my computer I’m automatically brought to the automatic repair screen which says “Automatic Repair couldn’t repair your PC" and gives me options to either look at advanced options or shut down my PC, and displays this message Log file: D\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

My computer will not allow a reset and only says, “There was a problem resetting your PC.” I’ve tried doing a system restore twice but that hasn’t worked either and only brings me back to the blue error screen. Now my computer says there are no restore points that have been created on my system’s drive.

It also won’t let me uninstall the latest quality update or latest feature update and only says “We ran into a problem and won’t be able to uninstall the latest quality/feature update of Windows. Try resetting your PC instead.”

I am completely lost and would appreciate any and all advice, thank you!

Some failures to boot can be troubleshooted starting with the failure report within the srttrail.txt

    %windir%\System32\LogFiles\Srt\Srttrail.txt

    C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

    D:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

    . . .

Often the most efficient method to return to a working computer is to first test the drive. . . .

If the drive fails then manually backup files > replace the drive > clean install Windows > install drivers > install applications > restore backed up files

If the drive passes then perform a custom install.

    . . .

A custom install is designed to install a fresh operating system and save files to Windows.old.

Drivers and applications must be reinstalled.

    Important files are restored from Windows.old . . .

1)Find one or two flash drives that you can format (> or = 8 GB) . . .

    2)Find a working Windows computer . . .

3)On the working Windows computer create tools that can be used on the problematic computer . . .

4)Create a bootable Sea Tools flash drive

    https://www.seagate.com/content/dam/seagate/migrated-assets/old-support-files/seatools/USBbootSetup-SeaToolsBootable.zip . . .

5)Create a bootable Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso)

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/download-official-windows-11-iso-file-from-microsoft.1009/

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 . . .

6)Boot the problematic to the Sea Tools flash drive

    https://www.disk-image.com/faq-bootmenu.htm . . .

7)Run the Sea Tools Long Generic test > take pictures > post images or share links . . .

8)If the Long Generic test displays fail then manually back up files using one or more of the following . . a)boot using the Windows 11 MCT (Windows 11 iso) > Windows Recovery Environment (RE) > command prompt > notepad

b)move the drive to an empty bay of another computer > copy and paste . .

c)purchase a HD enclosure > move the problematic into the HD enclosure > connect to a working windows computer > copy and paste

    . . .

9)If the Long Generic test displays pass then perform a custom install

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/custom-install-windows-11.13926/ . . .

10)Install drivers displayed on the computer or motherboard manufacturer websites . . .

    11)Install applications . . .
