Hi, lately we have been receiving a lot of complaints with users working with our site that opens in IE mode Every site that opens in Edge Explorer mode does not recognize the keyboard as it should, for example when you type the number 7 what appears is number 1, when I type 7 again this time the number 2 will be displayed, and so on. It looks like it's after they got the latest Edge browser update 121.0.2277.112 I asked them sending feedback to your Dev Team by pressing Alt+Shift+I in Microsoft Edge to report this issue. It is also important to note that this problem has already happened before after an update - 119.0.2151.58 and fixed in the subsequent update what can we do ? And is the problem known to you? Hi @מירן ימינך, Currently, this problem is not known to us. To verify whether it is caused by the Edge update, could you please find a test user and roll back to a previous version that used to be working well on this website?

I had a user call in today with this exact same issue. Started 2/13/2024 when his machine updated. His numbers work just fine in any other window or program, but not in IE mode in edge or chrome. I have tried rolling back the updates KB5034466 and KB5034763 that were both installed on 2/13, but the issue continues. An annoying work around for now, is for him to type his numbers into a notepad, then copy and paste them into the IE Mode window within Edge. I hope this issue is quickly resolved.

Hello, since February 13th we have the same problem described above with the keyboard. We have detected that this happens when browsing the site in internet explorer mode but for a non-secure url http://xxxx in https it works for us. Any workaround for this problem is welcome as we have not been able to solve it yet. thanks

I'm having the same issue, I need to run a legacy app that only runs on IE mode. Please suggests any solution for this.
We were able to understand what caused the problem, and what the solution is, The problem does not stem from one Microsoft update or another, but from the East Antivirus, It has a keyboard protection that hides keystrokes from other applications, it recognizes Edge and Explorer as two different applications and this is the reason, we contacted the company Eset And they will fix it in the next update, thank you very much to everyone

Hello Everyone, I was having the same issue on client PC. We found the ESET antivirus has a "Keyboard Protection" setting and once it was disabled, the characters now appear normally. So I don't think this was a IE issue, but an AV issue. If you're not using ESET, your AV may have a similar setting. Good Luck! RobB

You are absolutely right, that was the issue I was having, it appears that ESET's keyboard protection was on and therefore, it messed the keyboards, I have disabled and it seems that is working fine now! thank you so much for pointing this out, I thought it was an updated related!

Rene, Glad it worked for you. I do recall one of the recent ESET updates asking to enable browser protection in a pop-up, so it probably enabled keyboard protection as well. I've sent in a ticket to ESET about the issue so they can fix in a future release. Cheers, RobB

In my opinion, this issue is not necessarily connected to a certain version, since rolling back versions didn't resolve it.

One other workaround is to use the onscreen keyboard
I'm having the same issue, it seems every time I run Edge on IE mode, the keyboards get all messed up.
Edge version is:
Version 122.0.2365.52 (Official build) (64-bit)

Hi Everyone, I am having the same issue with some of clients who use IE mode. What we found the issue was ESET has a setting for Keyboard Protection. I disabled it and the proper characters are now showing up. Hope this helps some of you. If you're not using ESET, maybe your Antivirus has a similar setting. Good luck! RobB
