Permanence of shared file URLs in folders created by Teams

Each time we create a new channel in our company's Teams account, a new folder is created in our company's SharePoint file architecture. If we subsequently want to move a folder -- because we organize our SharePoint folders in a different manner than the organization of our Teams channels -- but we keep the folder within the same overall Team account, will the sharing links for each file stay intact?

    Hi @Daniel Kramer

    Welcome to our forum!

If you move folders from one location to another, the shared links for each file don't stay the same because they're based on the original file path. You have to create new links for the files you move and share them again.

However, there are some possible workarounds that you can try, such as:

Create a blank document in Word, insert a file path link as a hyperlink, save the file, and upload it to Teams.

Create a link to a file or folder in SharePoint, copy the link, and paste it into Teams as a site tab.
