My Windows 11 Dell laptop keeps rebooting instead of shutting down. Everytime I try to shut down it boots up again after less than a second. I've looked in the event viewer and there, I see the two events below.
I came across this link https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-reboots-when-i-try-to-shutdown/44ef0577-7b36-4d92-8148-d992739cc344 and did what they said there, but nothing works.
The kernel power manager has initiated a shutdown transition.
Action: Power Action Shutdown Off
Event Code: 0x0
Reason: Kernel API
The system has prepared for a system initiated reboot from Active.
Things I've tried
- Unchecked for all devices "Allow this device to wake up the computer"
- Disabled & enabled fastboot
- Ran
SFC /scannow
: no issues were found
- Disabled all boot features in the BIOS, like WakeOnLan, WakeOnUsb, etc.
- Reset power settings to default using
powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
- Turned off and on "Memory Integrity" in "Core Isolation" inside Windows Security
