If your Surface Pro 7 pen suddenly stopped working, it's good that you checked the battery and tried changing the pen tip, as those are common troubleshooting steps. Since the button still works, it suggests that there might be an issue with the pen's ability to transmit the writing/drawing signals to the Surface, but not with its ability to connect to the device in general. A new pen should resolve this issue, assuming there's no underlying problem with the Surface Pro 7 itself. If the new pen doesn't work either, it might be worth checking the device's settings or consulting with Microsoft support for further troubleshooting
I assume you still have your pen connected to the tablet, just check on your connected Bluetooth devices (Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices).
If it's not showing:
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Hold down the top button on your Surface pen (the eraser button) for about 5 to 7 seconds until the LED flashes to make it discoverable.
- Click on “Add Bluetooth or other device” and select “Bluetooth”.
- You should see your Surface Pen appear in the list. Click on it to pair.
