I have Word installed on my laptop and have had this for about 3/4 years. For some reason when I click to save a document the options have changed and instead of going to Browse and this bringing up the File Manager it just comes up with a small box. At the top is the last path I have used but no where is there an option to pick a file or folder. I've looked at all the options on there and theres nothing which brings the options I used to have. Nothing has change don my laptop so I don;t understand how this has happened. Can anyone help please

    Hi @Susan Firby

Could you please tell us which version of Office are you using?

    • You may go to Word > Account > Product Information to check this information.

Does this issue occur with all Office applications, such as Excel.

Please go to Control Panel, perform an online repair for the Office.

I suggest you type `cmd' in Windows Search box, right click the "Command Prompt" as administrator, then enter following commands:

    • Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    • Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Wait until the commands are finished, please continue to enter the following command:

    • sfc /scannow

If this is Word for Windows, you can access the classic Save As dialog box by pressing F12 (or Fn+F12 on some keyboards).
