Hi,

Getting some serious error:

Stop Code: RDR_FILE_SYSTEM
What Failed: mrxsmb20.sys

More information about the behaviour:

1. Happens on Windows 2004 version domain joined laptops
2. Happens on domain user who have "offline files" enabled and outside the corporate network
3. Just like from the other forums/resolutions, once the offline files have been disabled, the BSOD doesn't occur anymore.
4. BSOD doesn't occur when the laptop is connected to the corporate LAN

Do we have a permanent resolution for the issue? Please see the below for the minidumps.

Mrxsmb20.sys is the SMB Redirector 2.0 operating system driver.
The RDR_FILE_SYSTEM bug check has a value of 0x00000027. This indicates that a problem occurred in the SMB redirector file system.

Try update or reinstall your SMB Redirector, also you can update the system to a newer version.

HAs this issue been resolved yet? We're having the exact same problem with machines imaged with 20H2 x64 version of Windows 10 after receiving their initial batch of Windows Update. On laptops, as soon as a user with offline files enabled logs onto the laptop, it blue screens. Every time. If we log on with a user with offline files disabled (ie. admin account), it doesn't blue screen.

Error messages are the same as discussed above. This device image is using the second release of the 20H2 ISO from Microsoft.

How has this still not been fixed since it was reported against version 2004?

Also, how is it acceptable that the workarounds seem to be either "disable offline files" (not an option for laptop users) or "modify the registry to force mapped drives to use SMBv1"? The latter is a serious security issue and not something that people should be recommending, especially not Microsoft staff.
