Outlook For MAC
My Outlook for Mac application (Mac Mini) updated yesterday. It now shows "offline" grayed out and the only way to fix it is to buy a 365 subscription. Has something changed that Outlook for Mac is no longer free?

2024-02-21T11:15:29.7066667+00:00 Screenshot 2024-02-21 at 5.59.44 AM (2).png See attached. One of the things I did to troubleshoot the issue was to delete my accounts and add them again. When I tried to add my account a window stated that I was offline and then stated that I had to signup for one month of free 365 or add a subscription to 365 to add an account. Everything was working fine with Outlook on my Mac before the app update.

2024-02-26T12:39:46.52+00:00 You need to activate the office first, require relevant subscriptions, and then add your account again. You can also activate from other products in Office and add an account in Outlook.

2024-02-26T13:38:56.85+00:00 All (Word, Excel, PP, etc.) Office apps are still working fine. Why is just Outlook requiring a 365 subcription?

Do you mean the problem only happens in the classic version?
How did you add your Gmail account? Please try to follow the steps in this document to add and check if there are any discrepancies.

2024-02-28T12:07:57+00:00 Yes, the "offline" issue only occurs when trying to use the Legacy (Classic Version) I just think they want you to use "New Outlook" because they want to insert ads at the top of your inbox and/or no longer want to support the Legacy version. To add my Gmail accounts I just selected Outlook>Settings>Accounts and added them from there.

2024-03-04T06:05:37.6066667+00:00 Hi
If you’re looking to add your Gmail accounts to Outlook and are facing difficulties with the Legacy version, using the “New Outlook” might provide a more seamless integration process. You can typically add your Gmail accounts by going to Outlook’s settings, then to the accounts section, as you’ve mentioned. If you encounter any issues, make sure that you have enabled IMAP in your Gmail settings and that you are using the correct incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings for Gmail.
Please try to fix stuck in offline mode as provided in this article: How To Enable or Disable Work Offline Mode in Outlook (10pcg.com).

2024-03-08T13:56:10.1966667+00:00 There is nothing update. Once I added my accounts under "New Outlook" everything worked fine. Every time I try to switch back to the "Legacy" Outlook, I am offline. I belive Microsoft has block use of Legacy Outlook in favor of New Outlook.

Will your webmail work?
Please try configuring your personal outlook.com account to check if there is the same problem.

2024-03-13T20:45:06.8666667+00:00 So I have a Outlook.com account and I can see a couple of emails that were sent from Microsoft to my Gmail address when I created the account, but none of my email is in there and I can't seem to figure out how to sync or import my Gmail.

Thanks for your reply!
Do you mean that configuring outlook.com account won't show offline?

2024-03-18T12:14:31.66+00:00 Yes, Outlook.com does not show offline, but it will not download any email from Gmail.
The other item that I can't get to work in the "New Outlook" (not Outlook.com) is Spelling and Grammar. "Correct Spelling Automatically" selection under Edit is grayed out
