Hello,

Our company has a Windows Storage server 2008 being used as a NAS box. We need to enable tls 1.2 on this server but I am not sure it is compatible.

I can only find a way of enabling tls 1.2 on Windows Server 2008, not Storage Server 2008. I was hoping that these two types of servers would be the same under the bonnet but just rebadged, but they are not. I tried running the update that would enable this on Server 2008 but it would not run. I have fully patched the Storage server in the hope that this may do the trick but it does not. After the macbhine was patched, I attempted the registry changes mentioned in this (and many other websites) links https://trustzone.com/knowledge-base/how-to-enable-tls-1-2-on-windows-server-2008-2016/ but still no locuk

Is tls 1.2 actually available on Windows Storage Server 2008? If it is, could anyone point me in the right direction of getting it on there please?

    Hi @ben snook ,

Looks like it's not compatible/supported as Windows Storage Server is not listed in the following link:

    Protocols in TLS/SSL (Schannel SSP)
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/secauthn/protocols-in-tls-ssl--schannel-ssp-
