SharePoint and Mapped Network drive

Hi Guys,

I've created a Sharepoint Site using the Document template using Office365 logged in as an Admin user.
Here is the snippet:

![38154-sharepoint-file-creation-1.png][1]
![38116-sharepoint-site-creation-2.png][2]

The site is created fine and members (user1 and user2) are added so that they can edit the document created in it.
I'm also able to setup a mapped network drive on the member PC to this sharepoint site, connecting as user1 and user2.

I can create folders in the mapped network drive of the users PC and when logged into Office365 SharePoint as Admin, I can see the folder created. However when I create a file in the mapped network drive, it does not appear when logged into office365 SharePoint as Admin

My question is:

  1. Why does a newly created folder in the mapped network drive show up but the file doesn't when logged into the Admin account of Office365 SharePoint?

Kind Regards
GMSS

    Hi,

I've found out the answer to my question. For all who are seeking the answer, here it is:

    1. Login to portal.office.com as the admin@ user
    2. Next go to Sharepoint --> click on Sites --> click on Active Sites
    3. Under the URL column, click on the site URL whcih is where your document library is
    4. Next, select Documents
    5. Next click on the cog icon (located top right of the page) and select Library Settings
    6. Next select Versioning Settings option
    7. In the Require Check Out section on the right hand side Select NO in
Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?

That's it, now when you upload a file through mapped network drive, the file will appear in the portal.

Hope this helps anyone out there who is also experiencing the same problem.

    Kind Regards
    GMSS
