Each time I do an update of iPadOS since the release of 14 (14, 14.0.1, 14.1, and 14.2) I am required to reset my password for the Apple Mail App Outlook Account. I am also required to do a MFA which is usually only required when I change my password. what is happening.

    Hi @Gail Quigley ,
Could this issue be reproduced on other account? If it only happened to your outlook account, the issue may be related to this account. I also have researched a lot about your issue and found a thread that mentioned the Office 365 MFA and the Apple Mail app for iOS, please kindly check if it’s also helpful to you.

If that’s invalid or you still would like to know more about it, due to here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client, we may know little about the outlook account in Apple Mail, in order to solve your issues better, please kindly post a new thread in this forum:

For me was the solution was:

    1. Go to your Microsoft account online, then "Security" tab, then "Advanced Security Options". Scroll down to "App passwords". Click "Create a new app password" and you will be presented with one.
    2. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then "Passwords & Accounts", pick the Exchange account, and delete it. Then re-add it by clicking "add account", and picking "Exchange". Fill in email address and a title for the connection. Then choose between setting it up manually or not. I chose not. Then iPhone asks you to add the password, and you add the (app-) password from step 1, not the password you generally use for your Exchange and/or Outlook etc. account/s. You might be successful entering (app-) password from step 1 without first deleting the Exchange account, but I haven't tired that.

Seems this way, Microsoft produces a one-time password for you that doesn't require two-factor-authentication even though you have opted for that.

    Hope that helps.

    I met this issue yesterday.

I have tried several ways and finally worked this out. You can just google this issue, the top 1 post on google is quite detailed introduced this issue, and some solutions are listed in this post. I didn't try all these solutions because the Rest part fixed it.

Add the Microsoft Edge app from the Apple store and then open it and log into your Microsoft account, this will automatically link your iPhone as a device. After trying everything for a few days this solved my Outlook account constantly asking me to re-enter the password and then giving an account error when downloading the emails from the server.
