Preventing unintended CC of unrelated recipients in Outlook

How can I prevent my email, originally sent to a specific user, from being CC-ed to others who replied to me? I did not include them in the conversation. I do not have any rules applied nor is my sent items set to automatically CC other users. Is there a way to avoid this in Outlook?

    Hi @Quinn Tran

    Welcome to our forum!

Do you mean accidentally sending an email to someone else by mistake?

To prevent accidental sending of wrong emails in Outlook, you can try to turn off the following possible options to avoid.

    • Prevent sending Outlook emails accidentally by disabling hotkeys.
    • Prevent sending Outlook emails accidentally by Delay Delivery feature.
    • Disable the autocomplete feature to make sure your email address is correct.

Does this mean that when you sent an e-mail to aaa, aaa replied with not only you but also bbb added to the CC address?
If that's the case, the CC address was added at the replyer's discretion, and there's no way to avoid this.
This isn't just limited to Outlook, it applies to all email apps.
